Biblical counseling is established on the belief that the Bible provides answers, help, and hope needed for any and every situation and relationship in life. Compassion, care, comfort, hope, faith, encouragement, and guidance are all components of Biblical counseling.
Our counseling is focused on Jesus Christ and how people can have a personal relationship with Him. Knowing Jesus is the beginning of experience true hope, meaning in life, and the power to change and grow. Christ and Christ alone provides the forgiving mercy, wisdom, and power we need for daily living.
Therefore, the goal of Biblical counseling is to come alongside a person who is struggling and seek to apply the principles in God’s Word in such a way that the person responds in an obedient and godly manner to the problems they are facing. Our goal is not merely to help individuals get out of difficult circumstances or change behaviors, but to help them become more like the Lord Jesus Christ.
For a fuller vision and definition of the philosophy of Biblical counseling, we endorse the Doctrinal and Confessional Statement of the Biblical Counseling Coalition which can be found in the Biblical Counseling Coalition Doctrine and Confessional Statement.
